We often get asked if a baby should, or even can have an eye test. The answer is absolutely yes!

An eye test is recommended whenever you have concerns about your child's eyes or vision. Even if you do not have any particular concerns, it is recommended to have at least one eye exam between 6-12 mths, and then again between 3-5 years (or before school). Thereon, an eye exam every 1-2 years is recommended.

Many eye conditions of childhood should be detected early for best prognosis. These conditions include: childhood glaucoma, kids cataracts, strabismus, amblyopia, esotropia, accommodative esotropia, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, nystagmus, retinoblastoma and eye infections.
